Silent Keys

The following poem is by courtesy of Gordon Lumley, G3DJE 2525.
Do not weep when I am gone, I am not gone forever, long -
For when we all, will gather there - There'll be abundant room to spare - For amateurs who, in the past - Made friendships to forever last. For in the ether, way up high, Such signals will for ever fly,
And when the end on earth is nigh, I'll QSY into the sky,
So that, my friends I'll always keep - In spite of endless, earthly sleep. So hasten not to do all things - On earth, with hurried earthly wings, There will be time to do much more - In heavenly state, in heavenly lore, Where QRM is never feared And heterodynes are seldom hear'd.
The songs of angels, ever sung On high, on some etheric rung,
Will modulate transmissions so - That ether winds will always blow -
Up to those aerials on high, For those who once on earth did fly. This will be clear for all to see, whence from this earth, we are set free. Those earthly signals which were passed, Made friendships which forever last, For radio waves must surely be - For ever, in eternity.
